Description

The Westerly Longbow is a solidly built cruising yacht, offering very good accommodation and storage combined with confidence-inspiring sea-keeping ideal for long-term cruising. 'Osprey of Meon' has clearly been very well maintained.

Accommodation

The Westerly Longbow accommodation offers up to six berths in two cabins with good headroom of around 6'1" in most areas. Up in the forecabin there is a V berth with infill to create a double berth, beneath berth stowage, shelves, and opening hatch to foredeck. The separate heads compartment to port with a Lavac marine toilet, washbasin, storage cupboard, and a hanging locker opposite to starboard. Moving aft into the saloon, which consists of a long L-shaped settee to port (which can convert to a double berth), saloon table, shorter settee to starboard, and plenty of storage in various cupboards and lockers. The galley is in the starboard quarter, which is equipped with a Plastimo Neptune 2000 two-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, sink, coolbox and good storage. The chart table is in the port quarter, which slides over the quarter berth. Teak internal fitout. Blue upholstery and complimenting curtains and carpets. LED internal lighting.

Mechanical Systems

Located behind the companionway stairs is the Volvo Penta 2003 marine diesel engine. 28hp, electric start, 3 cylinders. Fresh water cooled via a heat exchanger. Shaft driven to a fixed three bladed propeller. Engine has been annually serviced in its current ownership.

    Westerly Longbow built in 1977by Westerly Marine Construction to a design by Laurent Giles. White GRP hull with white GRP superstructure and light blue painted non-slip decks. Teak rubbing strakes. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder. Aft self-draining cockpit.
