This waterballasted Open 40 has been designed for short-handed offshore racing and passage-making. Roc is strongly built in aluminium to cope with any weather conditions and keep going, no matter what.
She has completed three OSTARs, three Round Britain & Ireland races (2-handed), three AZABs, the RORC Fastnet (2-handed), the Bermuda One Two, Triangle Races (2-handed), the Solo 1000nm (singlehanded), Petit Bateau (singlehanded), Three Peaks Yacht Race and the Universal 500 with a number of wins and many good placings.
Alongside her racing, she has also proved to be a fast and easily handled cruising yacht, exploring the West Country, Ireland, Maine and Newfoundland with a young family on board.
Roc is perfectly suited for adventurous cruising or shorthanded offshore racing.

Accommodation
The accommodation is simply fitted out and offers up to five berths. 1.88m maximum headroom. There is an emphasis on useful practicality and comfort at sea over aesthetics and livability in port. There is massive stowage, sensible handholds and a practical, painted, wipe clean finish everywhere, together with full standing headroom.
The forepeak is open-plan and given over mainly to stowage but with a pipecot to port. It could be fitted out with a double bunk if required. In the saloon, the dinette to port converts to a double, with a settee berth opposite. Upholstery is finished in tough Sunbrella fabric. Navigation station to starboard with proper sized chart table, good chart stowage and plenty of space for electronics. The galley is opposite, with a two burner gimballed gas hob incorporated into a large gimballed tray; pots and pans, crockery and cutlery (and your cooking) will all remain safe at hand in the very worst weather. Stainless steel sink with manually pumped freshwater supply. Seawater faucet. 300 litre freshwater capacity in 2 x stainless steel tanks (2010). Refrigerator. Separate heads compartment with marine WC and washbasin to port. Aft cabin with large single berth to starboard.
