This is the shoal draft version of the popular Beneteau First 285. Accommodation
Offering up to 4 berths in an open plan layout. Up forward there is a double V berth with good stowage underneath and a deck opening hatch. There is the ability to have two single sea berths with lee cloths instead. Privacy curtain between berth and saloon. Swivelling saloon table which can be removed for extra saloon space and fits in cockpit as well. Chart table to starboard with control panel and good stowage. Opposite to port is the L shaped galley with two burner gas hob with oven and grill. Single stainless steel sink with a manually pumped cold water supply. Portable 12v/240v cool box. Microwave. Heads compartment to starboard with marine toilet, hanging locker and extra outboard shelving. Aft to double aft cabin on port side with luxury mattress and plenty of extra shelving.
New beige upholstery throughout the saloon. Curtains. Teak and holly saloon floor. Custom saloon hull linings. Extra galley preparation shelf. Various throw cushions.
Mechanical Systems
Located under companionway in vented and soundproofed compartment. Volvo Penta 2002 marine diesel engine, 1988. Twin cylinders. 18hp. Sea water cooled. Shaft drive to two blade propeller. Rope cutter to shaft. Single lever controls. 26 litres fuel capacity in a stainless tank. Full engine service and top end rebuild by Volvo Dealers, Spring 2024. New starter motor. Built by Beneteau in 1988. White grp hull with style stripes and alloy toe rails. White grp coachroof with moulded non-skid decks. Self draining cockpit and anchor well. Cast iron winged keel. Tiller steering to a spade hung rudder. Teak slats to cockpit seats. Sugar scoop transom with swimming ladder. Alloy mooring cleats and midship cleats on genoa track. Slotted alloy toe rails.
