Description

The MG Spring 25 is a popular cruising boat, perfect for weekend cruising and club racing, built by the excellent Northshore yard. Down below they offer good accommodation and feel light and modern thanks to an open plan layout and moulded headlinings. 'Grand Tour' has been in her current ownership since 2020

Accommodation

Six berths in two cabins with approx. 5'11" max. headroom. Double berth forward. U-shaped seating around saloon table which lowers on the mast support post to make a double berth. Galley to port two burner gas stove with grill (new 2020), sink and cool box. Forward facing chart table to starboard with separate seat. Heads compartment aft to starboard with Jabsco marine toilet (new 2020) and moulded wash basin. Aft cabin to port with large double berth. Cold manual pump water supply to heads basin and galley sink from flexible water tank (new tank 2020).

Mechanical Systems

1988 Yanmar 1GM10, single cylinder, 9hp diesel engine located under companionway steps. Shaft drive via P-bracket to fixed two blade propeller. Direct sea water cooled. 25 litre plastic fuel tank. New alternator 2024. Seawater pump rebuilt 2020. New exhaust elbow and cylinder head 2015. Engine serviced annually by current owner. New shaft packer and grease pump 2024.

Electrical Systems

2 x 12 volt batteries charging from engine alternator. 240v shore power with single 13amp socket. 12v interior lighting (mostly LED).

Sails and Spars

Fractionally rigged sloop. Silver anodised deck stepped, single spreader mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging (2002). Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail. Plastimo headsail furling system (new 2024). Spinnaker pole. Adjustable backstay. 2 x Barton 16 self-tailing two-speed sheet winches (new 2020). 2 x Meissner halyard winches on coachroof.

    MG Spring 25 built by Northshore Yachts in 1988. White GRP hull and superstructure with moulded-in non-slip surfaces. Cast iron wing keel. Underwater hull epoxied in 2003. Tiller steering to twin spade rudders. Self-draining cockpit.
