Description

The Longshore 16 is a rare and compact double-ended daysailer inspired by a traditional Scottish West coast fishing design. They are easily handled, sturdy in most weather conditions, and have a very shallow draft ideal for exploring the East Coast of England and beyond. 'Ana' is presented in good condition for her age and comes with a road trailer. Early viewing is highly recommended.

Accommodation

The simple open-plan accommodation consists of a double berth with blue vinyl cushions and space for two kit bags

Mechanical Systems

Located on an articulated mounting bracket on the transom and steered via the main tiller and rudder is a Electric trolling motor and 75Ahr Battery.

Electrical Systems

There is a simple 12v system installed to run the navigation equipment and other items. New battery May 2024.

Sails and Spars

Lug-rigged sloop. Deck stepped wooden mast and boom. Stainless steel & terylene standing rigging. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefed mainsail. Hank-on headsails.

Additional Equipment

RM galvanised single axle braked road trailer (painted with Hammerite for protection) supplied complete with lighting board. In 2022 the trailer had a full service including new suspension, hubs, brakes, cables, wheels and coupling. New jockey wheel in 2024.

Construction

Longshore 16, built in 1991 by Longshore Yachts to a design by Peter Harris. White GRP hull with blue style stripe, teak-laid decks, and superstructure. Encapsulated long keel. Tiller steering to transom hung rudder. Teak toerail and grabrails.
