The Princess 315 is an aft cockpit flybridge cruiser, designed by Bernard Olesinski and built by one of the highest-regarded production motorboat builders. They offer excellent accommodation, sparkling performance, and good sea-keeping abilities ideal for cruising and longer periods aboard. 'Mirage' is one of the last built, and is fitted with twin later Volvo Penta 5.0L V8 petrol engines, allowing for slower speed cruising on rivers and inland waterways without the risk of turbocharger and other issues associated with diesel-engined alternatives. Accommodation
The main accommodation offers up to 4 berths (a fifth could easily be provided by creating an infill for the port saloon seating) with good headroom of approx. 6'1" or more in the saloon and galley.
OWNER'S FORECABIN: Offset double berth with ample storage, opening portlights, and a hatch to the foredeck.
HEADS: Separate compartment with marine toilet, holding tank, shower area, wash basin, mirror, opening portlight, and storage.
GALLEY: U-shaped galley equipped with a two-burner cooker with oven and grill, fridge, twin stainless steel sinks, and ample storage and work surfaces.
SALOON: Wheelhouse helm position to starboard with bench seat and full instrumentation ahead of a settee berth with trotter box. L-shaped settee to port which could easily be adapted to offer a double berth if required. Large lazarette with access to systems and sliding doors to cockpit.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT: The interior is the preferred light wood finish and has been re-fitted with high-quality grey cotton upholstery in the saloon giving a more modern feel. Eberspacher diesel-fired warm air heating system (serviced 2021). Hot and cold pressurised water system via a calorifier with immersion coil.
EXTERIOR: The aft cockpit offers comfortable seating on a large aft bench seat, side deck access is easy from either side and leads forward along safe wide side decks with ample grab rails. A large foredeck would lend itself well to sunbathing and the flybridge with second helm position provides more seating and entertaining space.
Mechanical Systems
Located under cockpit sole, twin Volvo Penta 5.0GL 220hp V8 marine petrol engines. Seawater cooled. Dual single lever controls at both helms. Wheel steering. Volvo Penta SX Duo-Prop outdrive legs. Twin steel fuel tanks with 590 litre total capacity. Full engine instrumentation (fuel gauges not working).
The engines appear to be in very good cosmetic condition and have been lightly used, with only 355hrs since new. It is believed that for much of her life she has lived on inland waterways, hence the unusually tidy appearance of both the engines and outdrive legs, with very little evidence of corrosion as usually expected by this age. The engines were last serviced in September 2021 before coming ashore, the fuel tanks were professionally cleaned in 2022, and the outdrive legs were serviced in September 2022 including new gimbal bearings, bellows, seals, and reconditioned propellers fitted. In February 2023 a new power steering pump was installed together with reconditioned water pumps, and her owner considers her to be mechanically in good order.
Electrical Systems
12v Battery system charged via engine alternators. Shorepower system with ring mains, battery charger, and immersion coil for water heating. Electrical distribution panel. 12v and USB sockets. Full cabin lighting.
