This Westerly Oceanranger 38 was built in the heyday of Westerly Yachts where their build quality was at its best. The joinery work below is exquisite and her layout is practical both at sea and for port entertaining. Centre cockpit with large aft cabin and two heads compartments. Mechanical & Electrical Systems

Located under cockpit sole with excellent access. 1994, Volvo Penta MD2030 marine diesel engine. 29hp. Sea water cooled. Shaft drive to feathering three blade propeller. Single lever engine control. 35 gallons fuel capacity. The engine cruised at some 6 knots with a maximum speed of some 7 knots (loading and fouling dependent). The engine has logged some 2,690 hours from new and has mainly been owner maintained. 2022 new engine mounts were fitted and a professional service. SidePower bow thruster. 5 x 12V batteries, Two domestic, single engine start and two bow thruster/windlass batteries. Charging via engine alternator and shore power charger. 240V system with sockets, immersion heater and battery charger.

Construction:

Built by Westerly Yachts in 1994. White grp hull with blue style stripes and teak rubbing strakes. White grp coachroof with white painted non skid upper decks and plastic "teak" ring decks. Teak to cockpit seats, combing and grating. Sugar scoop type transom. Cast iron fin keel. Whitlock wheel steering to spade rudder. Stainless steel safety rails, stanchions and guard wires. Mid ship cleats. Teak coachroof hand rails. She has been in her current ownership for 15 years - her Vendors are giving up sailing due to advancing age. Last surveyed in 2024 for insurance purposes.

Accommodation

Up to eight berths in three cabins including the saloon. From forward: V berth cabin forward with infill to make a double. Plenty of under berth and eye level storage plus full length hanging locker opposite the heads compartment. Heads compartment to port with marine toile (with holding tank), basin and shower with electric pump out. The saloon has a U shaped dinette to port with a single settee berth to starboard with folding leaf table between. Masses of storage lockers under berths and at eye level. The L shaped galley is to starboard and is equipped with a Neptune 2500 gas cooker with two burners, grill and oven, two stainless steel sinks (with h&c pressurised supply), top loading fridge, various crockery/Cutlery and cooking utensils all in well sorted and plentiful stowage lockers. The forward facing chart table is to port and has a pvc navigators seat, full size chart table and well organised panels for all navigation electronics. Aft of the chart table is the navigators quarter berth and walkway to the aft cabin. The aft cabin has a large double berth to starboard with an armchair and lockers to port. The en-suite heads compartment is to starboard and s fitted with a marine toilet, basin and shower. Fitted carpets to forward and aft cabins. Non scratch laminate flooring to the saloon. Curtained throughout. Very high quality teak joinery. Webasto diesel fired central heating system.
