Alacazam is a custom built 38ft cruising cutter designed by the British designer and boat builder Andrew Simpson & Associates and constructed in the UK by a small team (two of which were the sellers) and lead by Andrew in a partnership known as RQC Yachts Rather Quick Cruising Yachts). Andrew Simpson is perhaps better known as the associate editor of Practical Boat Owner - a popular yachting publication in the UK. The design ethos was that Alacazam should be reasonably quick, robust, easy to sail and maintain, with practical live-aboard accommodation. From the cockpit, sails can be easily handled. Below she is well thought out, light and airy in an open plan design. Viewing highly recommended.

Owners CommentWe have two reasons for selling our unique sailboat, which has looked after us for some 25 years. One is anno domini - we're both getting on a bit. The other is more compelling; the skipper suffered a serious illness in 2023 and as a result I'm now ‘unseaworthy’. But what do we love about Alacazam? She sails like a dream. Points high and reaches her hullspeed easily. The sheets for all three sails are within easy reach of the helmsman. She’s light, airy and spacious below. She’s simple to maintain and operate. Everything is easy to get at.
