Description
The Bavaria 36 offers class-leading accommodation with a particularly spacious forward cabin and very generous storage. 'Jal Amande' is the preferred owner's version offering two double sleeping cabins combined with a spacious saloon, aft galley, and lots of storage. She is also fitted with the sought-after larger engine and has an in-mast furling mainsail for simple sail handling. Accommodation
The Bavaria 36 Owner's Version layout offers up to six berths with two double sleeping cabins and approx. 6'4" max. headroom.
Forward Cabin: A well-proportioned and spacious cabin fitted with a large double V berth, excellent storage in a range of lockers, cupboards and beneath the berth, seat, mirror, adjustable lighting, an opening hatch to the foredeck, and two large opening skylights.
Saloon: Consisting of settee berths either side of a central table with folding leaves and storage, and excellent storage in various lockers and cupboards. Plenty of natural light and ventilation are provided by four large opening side windows and a central hatch. 240v Logik 22" TV with built-in DVD player on saloon bulkhead with mast-mounted aerial.
Galley: L-shaped galley aft to port equipped with a two burner gas hob, twin stainless steel sinks (with covers), large top opening fridge, and generous storage in various drawers and cupboards.
Navigation Station: Forward-facing chart table to starboard with navigation instruments, electrical distribution panel, heater controls, Sony stereo CD/radio, and storage.
Aft Cabin: Aft cabin to port fitted with a double berth, hanging locker, cupboard, shelf, two opening portlights, and adjustable lighting.
Heads: Large separate compartment aft to starboard with Jabsco marine toilet with holding tank (overhauled 2019 including new seat, plumbing, seacocks, and tank clean), shower seat, washbasin, pull out shower, wet hanging locker, large opening portlight, and further storage.
General Equipment: Pressurised hot and cold water system via a calorifier with immersion coil. Eberspacher diesel-fired warm air heating system to all cabins. 50L holding tank. Excellent ventilation throughout is provided by numerous opening hatches and portlights. All deck hatches reglazed 2022/23. Teak and holly soleboards and yellow cloth upholstery with complimenting curtains throughout. Throws, cushions and blankets included. Crockery and cutlery.
Mechanical Systems
Located beneath companionway, Volvo Penta MD2030, three cylinder, 29hp marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Exhaust water lock replaced 2024. Single lever controls with electric start. Plastic 150 litre fuel tank. Volvo Penta saildrive (diaphragm changed 2017) with Ambassador rope cutter to feathering three-bladed Kiwi-prop propellor. Sea-fire automatic fire extinguisher in engine space.
The engine appears to be in excellent cosmetic condition, was last serviced in March 2024 and has been lightly used since. 238 engine hours at January 2025.
Electrical Systems
3 x 12v batteries (2 x180ah heavy duty domestic and 90ah engine star, all new 2022) charged via engine alternator with Sterling charge regulator. Shorepower system with ring mains, automatic battery charger and immersion coil for water heating. Victron battery management system. Electrical distribution panel. Full cabin lighting. Mast mounted TV aerial.
Spars and Sails
Fractional rigged bermudan sloop. Selden aluminum, deck stepped, double swept back spreader in-mast furling mast and boom. Discontinuous stainless steel standing rigging (new 2020). Adjustable backstay. Spinnaker pole. Terylene running rigging. In-mast furling mainsail system. Furlex 200S headsail furling system. Adjustable genoa cars. All lines led aft via rope clutches. 2 x Harken 40 self-tailing two-speed sheet winches. 2 x Harken 16 self-tailing halyard winches.

Bavaria 36 built in 2002 by Bavaria Yachts to a design by J & J Design. White GRP hull with blue style stripes, superstructure, and decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Underwater hull re-epoxied in 2020 having been previously epoxied in 2008 as a preventative measure. Cast iron fin keel. Wheel steering to spade hung rudder. Lagun removable swivelling teak cockpit table. Self-draining cockpit with teak-laid sole and seats.
