The Kingfisher 30 is a robustly built twin keel centre cockpit cruiser.  These modestly priced yachts have achieved some remarkable voyages, though the modest draft makes them equally suitable for coastal and estuary exploration. "Penultimate" has been well cared for over the years.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to six berths.  In the forecabin, V berth with stowage under. Opening hatch to foredeck. Full width heads compartment with marine toilet and washbasin. Hanging locker.

In the saloon, two settee berths.  Fixed table with drop leaves. Chart table to starboard with galley opposite. Two burner gimballed gas cooker with grill and oven.  Sink with manually pumped freshwater supply. Refrigerator. Aft cabin accessed via cockpit with two single berths.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the cockpit, Caterpillar C1.1 marine diesel engine. 24hp. Electric start. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Shaft driven to a fixed 3 bladed propeller. Single lever controls. 60 litre fuel capacity.

Construction

Built in 1978 by Westfield Engineering to a design by R.A.G. Nierop.  White GRP hull.  Rubbing strakes.  White GRP superstructure with painted non-slip to deck.  Twin keels (blasted and epoxy primed 2012).  Skeg hung rudder.  Tiller steering.  Centre self draining cockpit.
