The Beneteau Swift Trawler 44 was a ground breaking design which took the market by storm. License to Thrill has the grey hull, bow and stern thrusters, generator, teak decks, two very comfortable sleeping cabins, large and airy saloon and even a galley on the flybridge accessed via stairs. Mechanical & Electrical Systems

Engines: Two Volvo Penta D4, 300hp turbo charged marine diesel engines. Port engine 2011 and starboard engine had a short block re-engine in 2021. Shaft drives to four bladed Bronze propellers. Electronic engine controls. Fresh water cooled. Twin alloy fuel tanks with a total capacity of 1,400 litres. The boat cruises at some 16/18 knots with a maximum speed of some 23 knots depending on loading and fouling. The engines have a full service history and both had new injectors in 2021. 625 hours on port and few hours on starboard engine since short block rebuild. MaxPower bow and stern thrusters with twin station controls. Lanco trim tabs. Hydraulic steering system. Paguro 4 Kva diesel generator (rebuilt in 2023). 63 hours run on meter. Electrics: 12 x 12v batteries charging via 2 x 25ah shore power chargers, engine alternators and generator. Inverter. Immersion heater. Ring mains with sockets.

Construction:

Built by Beneteau in 2011. Light pearl grey, semi-displacement, grp hull with stainless steel rubbing strakes. White grp coachroof with moulded forward decks and teak to side decks, aft deck and swim platform. Opening doors to transom platform and starboard side deck. Alloy and folding stainless steel mooring cleats. Stainless steel and teak bowsprit for anchor. Stainless steel wrap around safety rails. Teak steps up to flybridge. The flybridge has extensive seating and lockers, teak table, external galley (sink, electric hob and Waeco fridge) plus mast for navigation lights, search light, antennas and dinghy davit with Harken self tailing winch. Silver grey upholstery and white vinyl seat and helm covers. Full engine and nav equipment on flybridge as well as interior helm position. The aft deck has twin lazarettes and L shaped seating with silver/grey cushions. She has been in her current ownership since 2020 and has been cruised locally. Surveyed at time of purchase and all recommendations carried out.

Accommodation

Six berths in two double cabins plus the saloon with two heads compartments. Mahogany interior woodwork. Owners suite - Forward with centreline double berth. Storage under berth plus two full height wardrobes. En-suite heads compartment to starboard with shower, electric marine toilet and basin. Corridor to saloon with guest cabin to port. This has two single berths that convert to a double. Large wardrobe, hull window and opening port. The day/guest heads is opposite and to starboard with electric flush marine toilet, shower and basin. Up steps to: Saloon - The double helm position is forward and to starboard with opening side door to the deck. This has a double seat with hinge up bolster and hinge down flooring. Full electrical and navigation equipment. Galley - is to port of the saloon and U shaped. This comprises two deep stainless steel sinks, gas oven with grill and separate three burner gas hob, plus front loading fridge/freezer and masses of stowage. Corian worktops. Saloon Seating - Settee to starboard with Mahogany dining table. This settee can convert to an occasional guest double berth with a privacy curtain. To port of the saloon are a line of large stowage cupboards and the TV set. The whole area is made private with curtains and venetian blinds. Webasto diesel fired central heating system throughout. Triple sliding patio type doors to the aft deck. Grey water and toilet holding tanks.
