The Back Cove 33 was inspired by the rugged seagoing Maine lobster boat.  A well built and practical motor cruiser with a wealth of sensible detail, the reliable Volvo D6 diesel engine gives good performance with excellent economy.  Bow and stern thrusters make marina manoeuvring simplicity itself.  This single owner example is well equipped lightly used and has been maintained to a very high standard from new.

The accommodation offers spacious living for a couple in an open plan cabin with extra convertible berths for another four if required.  There is full standing headroom, good stowage and excellent ventilation throughout.  Forward there is a large V berth with infill and stowage under.  Two opening hatches to the deck and three opening portlights.  Dinette to port, converting to a double berth.  Separate heads compartment to starboard with marine toilet, shower and washbasin.  Steps up to pilot house.  Helm position to starboard with Stidd helm chair and double navigators seat to port.  Aft to port is a good sized dinette, also converting to a double berth, with galley opposite.  Two burner gas hob and microwave oven.  Stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water system.  225 litre freshwater capacity.  In the large aft cockpit, there is a bench seat aft and a small occasional cockpit table.  Gate to bathing platform and boarding ladder.  Cockpit shower.  Wallas diesel fired hot air central heating.  Radio/CD player.  Ultrasuede upholstery.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the saloon sole, Volvo D6-435 six cylinder 435hp turbo charged diesel engine.  Electric start.  Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger.  Shaft drive to four bladed propeller.  Shaft fitted rope cutter.  694 litre fuel capacity giving approximately 250 mile range at 20 knot cruising speed. Maximum speed 30 knots.  The engine hours are 262.  Single lever control.  Trim tabs.  Bow thruster.  Stern thruster.  

Yamaha 25hp FT25 auxiliary outboard engine.  This is stowed on a bracket on the bathing platform and can be easily deployed with a custom made davit.  30 litre auxiliary fuel capacity in two tanks.  This is ideal either as emergency  propulsion in case of main engine failure, or as a quiet auxiliary for river and canal transit.  The single lever control and remote steering are located at the main helm position.
