Located in separate engine compartments, twin Perkins Sabre M215C six-cylinder 215hp turbocharged commercial diesel engines. Freshwater cooled via heat exchangers. Dual lever controls with electric start. Racor fuel filters. Hydraulic wheel steering (new system 2019). Shaft drives via Twin Disc gearboxes (overhauled including new output shaft seals 2019) to bronze propellers. Maxpower CT80 Duo 24V bow thruster (new 2019).
The engines were replaced in 2005, are in very good cosmetic condition, were serviced in early 2022 and have also had both fuel pumps serviced later on in the season. The M215C engines are highly regarded for their smooth running, low noise levels, economy, and durability. Although capable of high-speed passage making, cruising at a displacement speed of around 8kts can offer surprisingly economic cruising.

Although 'Trinitas' has been coded in the past, recent changes to the MCA Workboat Code make it unlikely that it will be possible to return her to this form of coded use. It may be possible to get coding for other uses, such as an inland passenger boat or charter fishing, for more information please contact the MCA or an approved coding surveyor.
